Mimi’s was created to provide an easy and convenient way for eco-conscious people of Seattle to buy organic, bulk pantry staples in quantities you choose, using your own clean, reusable containers. We look forward to offering flours and grains (including gluten free options), beans, tea, coffee, and spices, along with oils, vinegars, and a variety of soaps, skin care and hair care products. We also want to bring you the very best zero and low waste household items and gifts.
Sourcing will support high quality, ethical and sustainable businesses, and feature many local and BIPOC-owned suppliers. Mimi’s Zero Waste Market acknowledges that we are operating on the tribal land of the first people of Seattle, the Coast Salish people, including the Duwamish People past and present, and honor with gratitude the land itself and the Duwamish Tribe.
We acknowledge that ‘zero waste’ is an aspirational goal. Assessing which containers, materials and products that ultimately create the least amount of landfill waste or result in the lowest carbon footprint is very complicated and may change over time. However, the detrimental health effects of plastics are well documented, and attempting to reduce those toxins in our homes and our food, as well as reducing the rate at which micro plastics are entering our waterways is an important goal as a community.
"We don't need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly."

Originally from a small town in Pennsylvania, I'm a mom who has been living in Seattle for more than 20 years. I was introduced to the idea of zero waste shopping by Scoop Marketplace, and quickly became a student of Stephanie Lentz, the founder of Scoop, through her Scoop Intelligence course. I knew I wanted to bring this incredible option to my neighborhood in north Seattle. We love meeting our customers, building community, and learning to make more sustainable choices as we go!

I'm a recent graduate from Shorewood High. I've taken a minimalist approach to life for as long as I can remember. When I'm not working at Mimi's you can find me studying Japanese or reading. Hablamos español, esperamos poder servirles en Mimi's. Por favor, dinos cuáles alimentos a granel y otros productos para limpieza y el cuidado personal quisieran ver de nosotros.
