Matcha has a strong vegetal flavor. This one being of superior (ceremonial) quality which uses young, first-harvest leaves, resulting in a smooth, sweet, umami flavor. The color is typically a lighter green than other grades and makes a notably finer and silky cup.
Matcha Tea:
- Sift 1/2 to 1 tsp of matcha into a bowl.
- Add 2 ounces of nearly boiling water while whisking in a W-shape pattern until fine or froth appears.
