Wild rice is one of the most nutritious whole grains available. Similar to oats, it is high in protein and low in fat. Broken wild rice cooks faster compared to the full/regular wild rice. It has a smoky, almost nutty flavor with a chewy texture.
Cooking Instructions:
- 1 part broken wild rice and 3-4 parts liquid.
- Bring water to a boil and cook rice for 35-40 minutes or until texture is soft -- not squishy.
- Drain excess water, use plenty of water. Unlike regular rice you don't want to cook the water out.
